Purpose Statement

“We seek to BUILD BRIDGES, touching the lives of the youth with the unchanging biblical truths.  In establishing a RELATIONAL FOUNDATION to reveal Christ’s love to them, we hope to ENCOURAGE GROWTH in their faith, challenging them to develop SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES that will enable them to LIVE OUT LOUD against society’s flow.”

CHURCH FOCUS – Breakfast In The Book Online

CHURCH FOCUS – Breakfast In The Book Online

At Breakfast in the Book we discover more from God’s Word, the Bible. This might involve a video, a quiz or a challenge! This year we have been working our way through a series from Scripture Union called Rooted. The series looks at where we have put our roots and what God wants us to be rooted in as a Christian.

Strong roots mean you can weather the storm. We’ve covered topics such as our identity, how we see ourselves, how we feel and friendships. God wants us to be rooted in truths from His Word. Our identity is found in Him, He sees us as precious, He knows exactly how we feel and He is the best friend we can have.

It’s been really nice to see everyone once a month and learn together. We’ve also really enjoyed seeing everyone’s artwork from some of our activities!

CHURCH FOCUS – CEF Conference – Raising our children in Christ

CHURCH FOCUS – CEF Conference – Raising our children in Christ

Raising our children in Christ.

The last 14 or so months have brought us all to some new and incredibly challenging situations and for parents many schedules and routines have been turned totally upside down. Maybe for the first time, parental involvement with schoolwork, across various subjects and to different educational levels, has had to be embraced with the need to facilitate home schooling, and probably there have been many very hard conversations trying to explain to children and young people just what is going on at the moment and why life looks so different.

One area that may also have presented challenges and opportunities to parents is to be more involved in the guidance of their young people in the Christian life. In the “old normal” there may have been a feeling that church-run Children and Youth ministries would take on a lot of the responsibility for this, but the balance has shifted somewhat.

CEF Ireland, recognising this, have organised a virtual conference on Saturday 29th May to help work through how to deal with some of these issues and offers a great resource to help parents understand their significant role in showing their children what it means to have a real connection with Christ in their own homes.

Also for youth leaders, there will be plenty to consider for when we return to our ministries and how we can do this and continue supporting parents in their role as disciple makers. This is a free virtual event, that does require pre-registration, but we would encourage you to consider being involved. CEF Ireland website (www.cefireland/family) will give more details and an option to sign up.

CHURCH FOCUS – YOUTH + CHILDREN @typconnect RESTART ONLINE

As we step into 2021, we plan to reconnect with children, teens and families in fresh ways with the same hope of Jesus. We believe he is what this world needs both now and always. Our organisations in normal circumstances create a hub of activity in our congregational life. Unfortunately, this has not been the case this past year as we moved into a new norm of restrictions and lockdown life. Online has become our place of gathering. This month we will relaunch our youth and children’s ministries with weekly online gatherings which we hope children and young people can gather safely online to reconnect with one another, leaders and most importantly, the gospel of Jesus.

Each month there will be weekly events for your children and teens to connect in as follows :

Monthly Childrens + Teens @ typconnect

1st Saturday in the month – Pulse Online : replicating our youth club with a fun + interactive gathering for primary aged children

2nd Sunday in the month – Sunday CE digital download : a family resource sent to parents of primary aged children following our Sunday CE format – prayer ideas, memory verse challenge, songs and bible lesson.

3rd Saturday in the month – SNT Online : fun and engaging events for teens to join in and reconnect online

4th Sunday in the month – Breakfast in the Book at home : a small group bible study for teens
