Holiday Bible Club 2025 – Amazing Treasures
Amazing! That is definitely the word to cover our HBC week this year.
Firstly we have an Amazing God who in His grace allowed us to have such an amazing week with the boys and girls. We really felt the benefit and blessing of your prayers so thank you for being a vital part of our team. God answered your prayers in abundance as…
We had Amazing Fun with the boys and girls in our games and quizzes, I’m sure the neighbours heard the enthusiasm on Thurs night as we were hunting for gems in the quiz. And we had amazing fun with our feathered friends. By the way this is Opal (say hello Opal!) Yes I’ll introduce the others. We also have Jasper, Ruby & her twin, Emerald & Jade! Yes I’m going to tell them what your job was! So our friendly birds kept an eye on who was listening well and had given the leaders precious gems to give out to exchange for prizes!
We had Amazing weather all week to have our games outside.
We had an Amazing Team… everyone worked together so well with great ideas and enthusiasm. ( fluent in the Squawk Bird language!! ) And deserve a huge thank you for giving their time and energy each night (after a day at work!)
We had Amazing listening from the boys and girls, they were so attentive … it is a joy and privilege to spend the week with them. (wish I could have captured the atmosphere of the week for you!)
And of course the reason we were there … we were able to share the Amazing Treasures from God’s word. Each night we finished with a serial story about a brother and sister who found out about the Good Shepherd and how to trust Him for forgiveness.
We learned 2 Memory Verses :
John 1 v 29 “Look the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”
1 John 4 v 9 “He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.”
We also enjoyed singing about God’s Word and each night we had to find a word and an object from our treasure chest that helped us think about our Bible lesson. …
On day 1 we had a lamb and our key word was ‘Safe’ to remind us how the Israelites were kept safe and how we can be kept safe from the punishment for sin by trusting in the Lamb that is Jesus Christ.
On day 2 we learned about God healing the Israelites from the poisonous snake bites when they looked at the bronze snake and believed God would heal them. This reminded us that if we look to Jesus and ‘Trust’ Him we will be saved.
On day 3 we had a money bag to remind us of the story of Zacchaeus. ‘Save’ was our key word to highlight Christ’s power to save us if we trust Him.
On day 4 we had a robe from the story of the prodigal son. The son had to ‘Turn’ from his sinful life. We too need to repent from our sin and live for Jesus everyday.
Thank you, thank you to everyone for praying before and during the week. And pray on for the 38 boys and girls who attended, that they will think about God’s offer of forgiveness and trust in Him and that those who are already Christians will grow more in their faith.
So Opal hopefully everyone knows now that we enjoyed Amazing blessings this week…and you can go back to your perch now!
